چکیده

Diffuse correlation and optical spectroscopies are used to monitor cerebral blood flow and oxygenation in premature infants during changes in angular head-of-bed position. Subsequent transcranial Doppler ultrasound measurements corroborate our findings. c © 2007 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: 170.3880 Medical and biological imaging; 170.5380 Physiology

Monitoring Tumor Therapeutic Response with Diffuse Optical Spectroscopies

Monitoring tumor therapeutic response with diffuse optical spectroscopies Ulaş Sunar Arjun G. Yodh The diffuse optical technique using Near-Infrared (NIR) light provides a promising means for non-invasive imaging and clinical diagnosis of deep tissues. During the last few years, we have developed a multi-modal diffuse optical technique combining two qualitatively different methodologies: Diffus...

Cerebral hemodynamics in preterm infants during positional intervention measured with diffuse correlation spectroscopy and transcranial Doppler ultrasound.

Four very low birth weight, very premature infants were monitored during a 12 degrees postural elevation using diffuse correlation spectroscopy (DCS) to measure microvascular cerebral blood flow (CBF) and transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) to measure macrovascular blood flow velocity in the middle cerebral artery. DCS data correlated significantly with peak systolic, end diastolic, and mean ...

Response: Commentary: Enhanced Monitoring of the Preterm Infant during Stabilization in the Delivery Room

We read with interest Dr. Hutchon's commentary on our recent review entitled " Enhanced Monitoring of the Preterm infant during Stabilization in the Delivery Room " (1). We would like to thank him for his kind comments. He raised a number of important points related to one aspect of our review, namely heart rate acquisition in the delivery room. He was disappointed by our " characterization of ...

Hemodynamic responses to antivascular therapy and ionizing radiation assessed by diffuse optical spectroscopies.

Diffuse optical methods were used to monitor two different therapies in K1735 malignant mouse melanoma tumor models: anti-vascular therapy and radiation therapy. Anti-vascular therapy induced acute variation in hemodynamic parameters within an hour, and radiation therapy induced longitudinal changes within 2 weeks. During anti-vascular therapy, the drug Combretastatin A-4 3-O-Phosphate (CA4P, 2...

Commentary: Enhanced Monitoring of the Preterm Infant during Stabilization in the Delivery Room

Finn et al. present an excellent summary of current and emerging methods by which to monitor preterm infants during stabilization in the delivery room, but I disagree with their characterization of the usefulness of Doppler ultrasound, and they fail to comment on the impact of delayed cord clamping on heart rate in the first minutes of postnatal life. Furthermore, I believe recent work using El...
